I love living in the city and the life of the city—its richness, its potential, and its rough edges. My ambition is to contribute to greater justice and equal opportunities. I believe in mixed methods research, but I am most experienced in qualitative research methods, often with a participatory or artistic approach. For my master’s thesis, I spent days sitting in a public square just to observe what unfolded there. As a doctoral researcher, I immersed myself in social policy and explored how organizations can help shape it from the bottom up.
As a lecturer in the Master of Social Work, I stay closely connected with students, and as a coordinator I have the privilege of following various Stadskracht projects up close: age-friendly cities, evaluation research, participation in urban planning, social-arts initiatives, and more. From Antwerp to the world—and back again.
