Step 1: ONLINE APPLICATION FOR ARTISTIC ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

You apply for the bachelor artistic entrance examination or you apply for the master application procedure.
You will receive a confirmation form via e-mail.

 

Step 2 (only for non-EU students): TOURIST VISA

You take this confirmation form to the Belgian Embassy in your country to apply for your short term Visa (tourist Visa).

 

Step 3: ENTRANCE EXAMINATION OR INTERVIEW IN BELGIUM

For the bachelor application procedure, you come to Belgium to take the artistic entrance exam and you pay the 25 euro administration fee via bank transfer. Make sure that the money is transferred to our account 5 days prior to the admission examination (NON EU students may also pay in cash at the student administration office before the start of the examination).

For the master application procedure, an interview will be planned if needed.

 

Step 4 (only for non-EU students): LONG TERM STUDENT VISA

The student administration can deliver on demand an official letter which confirms that you have passed the artistic entrance examination. You can take this official letter, which proves that you passed the examination, to the Belgian Embassy in your country to apply for your long term student Visa. If this document is not sufficient for the embassy in your country, you can receive an official document of full enrolment only after payment of your tuition fee (see further).

 

Step 5: FULL ENROLMENT TO OUR ACADEMY

DOCUMENTS: You need to send a copy of the following documents to enrolment.ka@ap.be or bring as soon as possible a copy to the student office.

  • ID card/passport
  • copy of the diploma needed to subscribe for the bachelor programme (foreign accreditation proof for the bachelor) or master programme. If the original is in a language other than English, French, German or Dutch, it must be accompanied by a legalized translation. Transcripts must include a complete description of the institutional grading system or other standards of evaluation with maximum grades and minimum marks indicated.
  • a document which grants you access to a university/university college (example) or a certificate of registration from a university (only for students with a diploma outside the EU)
  • d-visum for non EU students
  • only for Chinese students: an APS certificate
  • if applicable: career after secondary school (copies of diplomas obtained, attestations of employment and/or declaration of honour from the student with description of his career path)

Students from outside the European Union need to apply for a certificate from their Embassy that states that the said secondary/high school diploma grants access to a University in the country where it was obtained.

TRANSFER OF CREDITS: To apply for a transfer of credits, you must follow the procedure as described on the page procedure transfer of credits. (attention: you need to have your study results, information from the study guide and information regarding the course).

STUDY CONTRACT: Once your programme is finalised, you will need to sign your study contract.

 

Step 6: RESIDENCE CARD FOR ALL FOREIGN STUDENTS

Once you are in Antwerp, you will have to register officially for the Belgian government.
Please contact the student administration office (Faby.VanGrimberge@ap.be - 03 213 71 07) as soon as possible so that an appointment can be made at the International Student Office in Antwerp for you.

You are fully enrolled after payment of your tuition fee, studio fee, costs for field trips and general services and after signing your study contract at the student administration office.
If you don’t fulfill these two conditions, your enrolment will be irrevocably deleted.
