Carlos Brito-Dias (1991), graduated in Composition at the School of Music, Arts and Spectacle (ESMAE). He attended seminars and masterclasses with Filipe Lopes, Pascal Dusapin, Kaija Saariaho, Wolfgang Mitterer, Betty Olivero, Ivo Medek, Bruce Pennycook, Emmanuel Nunes, Marko Ciciliani, among others. Brito-Dias was part of the 343eNSEMBLE electronic music project with ESMAE students and teachers. He currently holds a Masters Degree in Composition from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp where he is a student of Wim Henderickx, Luc van Hove and Jorrit Tamminga.
He has performed several courses in Musical Pedagogy. In the scope of forums organized by the ESMAE / Casa da Música partnership, his works Tribute to a Fugidio and Claro-Escuro were read by the Remix Ensemble under the direction of Peter Rundel and his work Dream was present at a reading by the Symphony Orchestra of Porto Casa da Music directed by Iker Sanchez. He directed the Choir and Orchestra of Sinfonieta de Braga.
His works have been performed in places such as the HardClub, Passos Manuel, Helena Sá e Costa Auditorium, Nogueira da Silva Museum, Adelina Caravana and Madalena Sá e Costa Auditoriums, Winter Garden of the Teatro S. Luís and deSingel.
